The use of metal foil behind a transparent/opaque rock dates to the Mughal period. The tradition of wearing a bajuband originates in the Dravidian region and bajuband were worn by Bharatnatyam dancers. They were originally worn by men.
Jeweled/gold area measures 8cm (w) x 3cm (h) x 0.5cm (d). The width is adjustable.
